Earlier this year, I was part of a fabric postcard swap. I decided this would be a good chance to use a silly rubber stamp that I bought several years ago. I stamped the "Raise Giant Frogs" advertisement on the back of the cards and for the front, I put my version of a giant frog on some fabric that had been screen printed with small frogs. Mailed them off and moved on.
Then I saw an announcement about a show in Tucson Arizona where they wanted cards about Arizona-real or imagined- sent in with the "Wish you were here" sentiment. I made up a fictional town called Frog Hop and did another card (well, several) and sent one off. The cards will be sold to raise funds for Tohono Chul Park. Hope it sells and I hope the park is a lovely place.
It has been one of those weeks where it is hard to find whatever it is that makes us put one foot in front of the other. Even though he is gone, Dad's voice is loud and clear in my head... Yes, Dad, I did waste time making these fabric postcards, and no, I don't know what good they are... I did smile a bit when they were finished, though.
I love your frogs. The Lisa Simpson stamp was the perfect crowning touch for that Frog Hop, Arizona popstcard. Very cute! (I bet your Dad was smiling too.)
