So, here is the last of the Vegetable series...at least, for now. I would still like to do a green pepper. But the birds are calling me back. Not just my imaginary birds, but my real birds too. I think the real birds need some fabric sun-shields sewn for their cages. They live out in what was our sun room, and even though now that it is closed in and has been made a year-round space and is much less sunny, it still has a lot of glass. The new birds live under some skylights, and they seem to keep an eye out for hawks. I decided that they would feel better with something to duck under, so I put a hand towel over part of their cage tops. Effective, but not beautiful. Making a more lovely cover is the type of sewing project that I seem to be able to put off for months, if not years. But maybe with Thanksgiving on the horizon, I'll be inspired to get something made.
This is really nice. They will all look so pretty when hung together in a gallery. Now them birds do need something pretty to duck under, so I think it will be fine to put off the green pepper and get to the cage covers. Do they have color preferences? Do they even see in color? Just wondering out loud.
Happy Thanksgiving, Teresa
