As part of the celebration for my town's 150th birthday, there was a call for sesquicentennial themed art by the local art guild. I started a phoenix quilt to enter into this show-since the phoenix is the town mascot. Lawrence was attacked and burned during a pre-civil war skirmish, but it rebuilt and arose from the ashes. Unfortunately, I lost the project in the layers of other odds and ends in my "to do" pile(s).
A couple of weeks ago, my phoenix arose from the ashes of my own chaos, so I decided to finish it. Too late for the 150th birthday, but ready for the 175th!
This quilt is awesome. I love the colors, well done!!
