A local non-profit art-supporting organization called The Lawrence Percolator is having a "Dime Bag Show". To enter, we made a ten dollar donation to the Social Services League Thrift Store. Then we were given a paper grocery bag...and we could have anything we could put into the bag from the thrift store to use in a piece for the show. I stuffed a sweater, a flannel shirt, a t-shirt, a bag of embroidery floss and several books into my bag(!). From this bag of supplies I made a doll named "Buzz" (because to me, he looks like he has had too much caffeine) and an altered (but only slightly) book called "Mother Goose in Chains". This was big fun...but art? You make the call.
I knew it, I knew it!! I love Buzz, he is sooooo cute. I just knew a softie was going to come of those items. The book is really nice too, different. I don't think in all my travels around Art Blogs and Sites I've ever seen an altered book like it. Excellent inspiration Linda. Loved it!!
