You know how it goes with some projects.... First you try one thing and that doesn't look quite right. Then you try another thing and that doesn't seem to help much. Then you try a last ditch effort to salvage the project, and that doesn't pull it together either, so you toss it out or maybe stash it in the "someday" pile. Well, that is how this project went for me, except that I didn't have the sense to toss it. First I painted some fabric and tried out a word printing technique (which I wasn't impressed with), then I screen printed some teardrop shapes, then I outlined the teardrops to highlight them...except that made them disappear as a separate printed element, so I added legs and beaks...then I rubber stamped the word home to make the big words make more sense to me...then I quilted it with big stitches...then I added some fabric squares printed with some clip art that related to the "home" word...then I went back and added toes to all of the quilting stitches so they look like bird footprints....So now it is finished, but not fabulous. Finished is a good thing, though.
I like how you can turn teardrops into birds. This is an interesting piece and it was a learning experience for you so that alone makes it all worth the time you spent on it.
I like it!!
