First off, I need to apologize about saying my daughter thinks owning a home-made quilt is too dorky. She never said that. When I offered to make a quilt for her dorm room, she said "No Thanks". I extrapolated the no to dorky. Just wanted to clear that up and make amends. We're not mad at each other...its all good...now on to other earth shaking projects...
How about gift bags?
I realized that I had a large package of brown paper bags in the pantry, and that it has been a very long time since I needed to make sack lunches. So, I got out the paint and took a try at making Christmas gift bags. I just painted a sort of plaid with green and silver using a wrecked brush, and then dotted the bags with red using a round foam brush. Then I cut the tops of the bags to a point using decorative edge scissors. After the gift was stuffed inside, I folded over the top and paper punched two holes to thread ribbon through. Not too bad...and anyway isn't it the thought that counts?
