A friend/client asked me to make a bag using a piece of needlepoint she had found at a garage sale. What she liked about it was that the background was green instead of the usual beige. I had a hard time finding fabric that went with the needlepoint because the greens of the leaves were in a different family than the green of the background. Separating the piece a bit with red boarders helped put some distance between the greens of the piece and the green of the bag, but they did make for an extra large sized bag. The reds are some sueded fabric from Cherrywood Fabrics. The sueded texture goes well with the wool needlepoint, I think.
