Two years ago, on a trip to New York City, I bought a copy of the book "Stupid Sock Creatures" at the great quilt shop The City Quilter . Back home, I offered it to my older daughter Sarah as a gift....thinking that she would not really be interested in it and that I'd get it back. Well, I haven't seen the book since, but I have been able to enjoy a seemly endless parade of creatures appearing. Here is a picture of two of them. They are named Rat Bear and Owlsy. Check out Sarah's website for other creative creatures. She had quite a successful time at Bizarre Bazaar selling these creations....sold out in a couple of hours. She has gotten a couple of commissions, too. My younger daughter has been kidding me about becoming jealous of Sarah's success. (I have spent long days at craft fairs and then taken almost everything back home.) This younger kid has been reading all of Augustin Bourroughs books, and I guess that guy's mother has a lot of problems with her son being a famous author. Well, I am not that kind of mother. I mean, just because I gave her the book....and a lot of socks...and got her the connection with the Bazaar folks...well, that doesn't mean anything. So, no, I am not jealous. Anyway, lets stop talking about it.
